IRENE DICKMAN (nee KOOP) 1928 - 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Irene, beloved wife of Phil Dickman, mother of Sandra (Angus) Carr, Douglas, and Michael Dickman (Brigitte Boucher), grandmother to seven grandchildren and daughter of Jacob and Sarah Koop. Irene was born at home in Niverville, Manitoba on the 12th of March 1928. She died at home in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the 5th of September 2008. Irene attended grades 11 and 12 at the Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna, Manitoba and completed her B.A. at the United College (University of Winnipeg). Irene taught in Winnipeg for 12 years, and worked at Family and Child services in Kenora as a social worker for 18 years until her retirement in March 1993. Over the next 14 years Irene fulfilled her lifelong desire to travel the world. Although Irene's Mennonite background was always of great importance to her and her family, she enjoyed attending the St. Andrews United Church in Keewatin in Ontario for 32 years. A memorial service for Irene will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons at 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will also be held on September 10, 2008 at St. Andrews United Church in Keewatin, Ontario at 11:00 a.m. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
